Environmental Manager 

Position Summary:

This position reports to the EHS Director and is responsible to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local environmental regulations, as well as with the Western Extrusions Corporation’s environmental policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee environmental compliance for the company

  • Plays scientific and administrative role in the organization

  • Responsible for promoting, supporting and enforcing the elements of ISO 9001 as they apply to the environmental department

  • Ensure the organization is compliant with environmental federal, state and local regulations in areas such as air quality, waste, water, soil, and pollution

  • Designs company programs to ensure compliance and implement those programs

  • May act as intermediaries to federal, state, and local government agencies.

  • Manage air permitting, storm water and wastewater permitting, waste management, emergency response, and environmental procedures development and programs

  • Manage facility audits, equipment and processes in order to evaluate operational effectiveness to identify and correct potential hazards and to ensure environmental regulation compliance

  • Take proactive measures to remediate all adverse environmental conditions

  • Ensure all hazardous waste and other material is disposed correctly

  • Manage the coordination of employee training in environmental laws and regulations

  • Prepare various reports, including charts and graphs, to determine trends, needs effectiveness of programs

  • Maintain all records and documents necessary to support compliance and training activities

  • Obtain required permits and ensure environmental records are current and available at all times

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills, Abilities, Experience and Education:

  • Must be able to perform the Essential Duties and Responsibilities listed above

  • Knowledge of air, storm water, wastewater, hazardous waste, chemical processes, water treatment, and emergency response.

  • 7+ years experience in the Environmental field

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations

  • Organized, and detailed orientated thorough with required reporting.

  • Strong analytical and project management skills

  • B.S. in is required in a natural science, earth science, geology, biology, chemistry, environmental studies, or science-related field.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
